Great, I am looking forward to shopping in June! I enjoyed the goat icecream and homade relish and jam last year. My husband enjoyed gabbing to anyone who would listen.
Hey Kim,
You would have felt right at home yesterday, some snow fell here, not sure how much, maybe2-3″. Nice to see for me. Have a nice weekend.
Wow that cold, burr. Oh, we had enough snow here, don’t want any more. I like looking at it too but we shoveled way too much this past year! I want some fun in the sun that is why we are hoping for June. If the house don’t sell right away we even have to wait longer. I hope we don’t have to bring a snow plow. We were hoping to just four wheel drive out of our property in the winter. 3 is okay so I can use my snow shoes, 4or 5 inches of snow might get me worried. Butch enjoy, but I will vision the lake melted and keep looking at greenhouse plans. have been getting more great ideas from these links on solar, chicken coops, etc. Take care for now
Kim I run a hybrid sytem here with both solar and grid power. And my ever faithful wind gen. I even have a Sunfrost fridge. And a backup Kolher 6.5 KW genset. When we got here power was way far off and when it came close enough I hooked up as to run my welders and power tools easier. Someday I will get back to making my art. I will send a picture of a couple rocks I beat on for a while to Carol and maybe she can post them for you all to see what ole hip does when not poking at the county officials.LOL
Groovey George, Hippie Art can be interesting. We looked into electric only 30.000 to hook up. Way to much for us. You have what we want George but the grid. Hope it all comes together for us. So much reading! We had a solar fence put up for one acre and planned on ptting anouther acre so we bought more but someone broke into our barn and stole the Agri rope we did’t put up and the solar system. Along with our generater and auger. We put what was left in storage and won’t get any more items until we move out there. Plan on getting a german shepard and a Kerr dog to help keep an eye on the place. We don’t want our solar or wind power stolen if we can afford them. (PS) If you see anyone in a Blue and tan Eddie Bauwer two foom tent eating off of rose china plates and taking a shower outdoors in a ceder shower kit you get my high rising camper theives! We were so bumbed out when we couldn’t dig more holes in to fence the cows out. Vinny thinks they were
Kim, so sorry to hear about your robbery, that is just sick, and Vinny is right, the
George, I would love to see your work as well. Even with the snow, I have some pots to plant the seeds, thanks so much again.

George you have talant for sure! Thank you for sharing it with us. Of all things to carve. Horses are up there with fishing. The detail is amazing. What type of rock is that ? Soap Stone? We are rock lovers too so arizona has caught our attention big time. We roamed our wash for day just looking for rocks. I got Vinny a stone grinder and polisher so he could get some turned into a smaller size to make jewelry and hope to learn to make some beaded necklesses with stones. I can draw faces a little but you have me beat. Only saw one, do I need to join that flicker page to see more? I hope you keep making them. Vinny said if we get the house that I want we won’t be able to afford a horse and that was the main reason I had my barn built for. So your picture may be the closest I get to a horse. Sorry again for my spelling just reread and noticed lots of errors.
Thanks Kim, I like to hit rocks and this is what happens. I have a few different ones floating around the mtn here. One of a Indian head with a eagle coming around his head, and a I have a 4 horn driveway marker I did for a couple and Carol has one more picture of a beaver I did for a couple in ST.johns. That rock is the local sandstone thats laying all around. But the best for sculpting in near Snowflake. I also do wood and metal art. But not as often as I would like to do. I use it as a stress relivier. I am always looking for RED rocks I have a collection of them. I call them blood reds for the real good ones are deep red. I was told they are a red jasper. And all you new comers need to be looking for arrowheads they are all over this mtn. I really slowed down my art when the folks started asking me to do headstones that creeped me out a bit.I have not done one and don’t think I ever will. Oh and the base for the horse is a old hunk of Alligator firewood I had in the yard that I cut and polished for the base and like the base the rock was just laying in my yard when I decided to beat on it for a while the whole thing took me two weeks of part time work to get done. I took blue ribbion at the county fair with it.
George,
I still have the photo of the beaver. I will try to get that one posted for you tonight. Been a little hectic this passed week.
George,
You should take it as a compliment that someone would want you to do a headstone for them.
During their time of sorrow, people want only the best for their love one. Something to celebrate the live of their loved one to help immortalize them. By doing a piece of art for a headstone helps keep the memory of the person alive. So don’t get creeped out, you would actually be helping someone. (it’s not about death, it’s about keeping the loved one’s sprit alive.)
Carol, I understand that part. But if I do one it will soon become known that I am a headstone carver. I am just a guy that hits rocks for fun. And I never know what will happen when I get done. But when I do a custom order I don’t get the fun feeling. I get that when I am doing it just for doing it without any idea of what it really is or when it will be done. I have a few that sitting around the yard yet to be completed, and yet folks always wanting to know hope much.Wierd. I used to have a art shop in the Adirodacks that would come to my house day or night when I called them with a finished piece.I was doing cowboys and indians all hand carved wood with rifles and do dads. But they would come because they knew I would throw it in the woodstove. I left a 8 foot tall santa claus I did out of PVC pipe for a frame and paper matic and cheese cloth and plaster. It was nice but I was so into making him that I forgot to think about how to get him out of the room of the basement I was making him in. He was so big around with his scrolling list of the naughty and nice he did not go through the door. So sad I left him there when I moved. I just gave away to a stained glass shop on the deal they use it to teach kids or the eldery how to do some stained glass. But I gave her about 500 pounds of stained glass I had. Oh and I dabble in silver and gold but not selling and buying making things out of it. But not allot lately.
Very interesting George, Your like the wittlers around here. They take a stick and just stary carving not really know at first what they will be. I had an artist friend that had a watercolor shop in Rockport MA and he did great work. But some of the most interesting pictures he did were on styrophone coffee cups. He stated that his heart were not really so much into the ones he sold. The ones he gave as gifts had meaning. You remind me of him a little, Some people just see a rock as a rock, but when then can see the color and texture has a special look to it then the creator can bring it to life. That is what you do and I understand that you don’t want to get into headstones.
I have been gowing to a granit quarry in Gloucester ,MA since a small kid and admire a statue that was put there of a gnome. Don’t know who did it but love to go now and then to look at it. When you having a showing. Love to be in AZ when you do..

Warning!!! The Apache County Health Director Elizabeth Kizer recently announced that she will be ordering food inspectors to cite vendors at the Farmers Market for non-compliance as well as all mobile food (tamale, burritos etc) vendors in St Johns.
Just another way for the county too hurt the poor and working residents. I would check and keep a record of everything they do and say if they come after you. Then look at if they followed the letter of the law as written when citing you or anyone you know. They have been known to bend the rules to thier own liking and needs in this county.
George, the detail is awesome, saw some beaver dams on a hike yesterday. Thank you again for letting us see your work. Some people just don’t want to share their acomplishes.
Sophie, sorry to hear that people want to crash this great event and I hope it doesn’t stop venders from selling some great products. I want my food safe and trust those venders more than these big factories that are hiding all their cheap tactics and get people sick with no pride of their products. If this is a joke then you fooled me. I love food and I stopped in ST. Johns for the great roast beef place and the flea market stands to by yummy homemade honey and etc. Shame if this is true cause that town needs people to stop and buy stuff. All the empty stores made me think it was becoming a gost town. Would be nice if they allowed some small busnesses to store food products and get refrigeration discounts to help these venders start a good busness for themselves. 8O
I hear you here folks, a real shame. Just got some home made relish at the vendor by Jiffy. Onolicious, (real good) on a Nathans.
Ok guys everyone on their best behavoir, we’re being read statewide now. And I happen to know like you others do even nation wide.LOL  Carol has created the newest trend in community talk for the people online. So Carol will you remember us when you go golbal.
I have been emailing the link to the site with encouragement to join in and take part. And I am sure everyone else has, even you way out there KIM. I have a very old friend from FL who has stopped by and read about us and our world here in the mountain of sunny AZ. Great job once again Carol you ROCK.
Man I sure have to agree with George, one more time. There are some hard working farmers, and people trying to make ends meet, why should the County get in there to “inspect”. Do they really think someone would intentionally cook bad food? Oi Vey!
So how is the Farmers Market going? Have the “inspectors” been harassing folks there trying to make a living?
