ConchoLakeAZ.com Website Difficulties have been Resolved
Over the weekend, you may have noticed that the ConchoLakeAZ.com was experiencing some technical difficulties. After a very frustrating weekend, I have the major issues resolved; however, I will be working on the website this week to get it back to par.
You will notice some changes in the website. Reasons for the changes:
- The website was experiencing a delay in loading for readers. I was trying to trouble shoot the problem and improve the load time of the website.
- Since I have updated the WordPress software and I tried to use some of the convenience updating options in the program, I had someone report a possible breach to the web server. I had the hosting server shutdown and I transferred the site to another hosting server. The website is locked down again and I will not be using the new WordPress conveniences. I will be doing software updates manually to ensure the safety of the website and readers computers.
- While we all are concerned about the current economy, I thought this would be the perfect time to take advantage of a price reduction in my website hosting service and to consolidate the website to one web address.
I am financially responsible for website and only recently the website has been experiencing a few clicks on the site’s sponsored advertising. This advertising helps offset the hard cost of the website (hosting, gas to events, equipment, etc… doesn’t include time and labor.) - Before the website transfer, I backed up the website database; however, I have not been successful enough to recover the news posts at this time. I’m still working on recovering the website posts from the past three years, but I’m not quite sure that is going to happen. (Sorry Guy!! There was a lot of great history there for all to enjoy.)
- You will notice a new look to the ConchoLakeAZ.com website. During the transfer process, I lost the website theme. I will be customizing the current theme during this week, so don’t be too surprised if you notice some changes in the website’s looks.
This was a very unfortunate event; however, despite this set back, I’m looking forward to another wonderful year of Concho News!

no hurry, take your time, even we retired folks have nothing but time.
From my experience, changing software, trying to get the “import” to work first time, never as easy as stated in the instructions.
