The Capitol Christmas Tree is being Cut Down this Weekend and Heading to Washington

Arizona has been waiting a long time for this honor. This weekend we all can stand proud knowing that this year’s Capitol Christmas Tree is coming from our neighborhood. Now you have an opportunity to take part of this historical event.
After hours of pain staking searching, the perfect tree has been chosen in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Plans are underway to cut the tree down and prepare it for it’s glorious trip to Washington. On it’s way, tree will make stops in Eagar, Pinetop-Lakeside, Show Low and Snowflake-Taylor. Then it will leave Arizona for it’s long journey to Washington on November 10th.
To celebrate, Round Valley residents are invited to a special viewing of the Capitol Christmas Tree Saturday, November 7th, at the Round Valley Rodeo Grounds. The event will start at 3:30 pm, with a program at 4:30 pm and light refreshments at 5:30 pm.
The second stop is Tuesday, November 10th in Pinetop-Lakeside. The Capitol Christmas Tree will arrive at 8:30 a.m., across the street from the Larson Library. After the tree arrives, a 15-minute program will begin at 8:45 a.m.
Once done in Pinetop-Lakeside, the tree will move on to Show Low and stop in front of the Show Low School District Auditorium. It will only be on display there for about an hour, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m where there will be a ceremony which will include holiday music from the Show Low High School Choir and the Show Low High School Band.
After the ceremony at the Show Low is completed, the tree will then travel up State Route 77 towards Snowflake-Taylor were the tree will be escorted into town by trucks from the Snowflake and Taylor fire departments, with Santa Claus leading the way on the lead truck.
The Capitol Christmas Tree will make one last stop in the area at the Bashas parking lot at around noon before heading on its way to Washington. Visitors are encouraged to arrive around 11:30 am because once the tree arrives the program will begin. After Snowflake-Taylor, the tree will still has 21 more stops to make in Arizona before heading to Washington. The trip should take about 10 days, according to the Web site capitolchristmastree2009.org, to travel across Arizona and another 10 days to make it to D.C.

I heard that the tree right now and has had full security to prevent anyone from either cutting or damaging the tree. And that supoosedly only a very few folks know which is the real tree chosen to be used. So  who can hang a red ribbion on the right tree? LOL
The reason for the secrecy, people are crazy, they would try and sabotage the tree. A few trees are going to DC, one will be used. The others will be recycled. Of course some don’t see why they have to take a tree from the White Mountains? Hell, let’s start a revolution against the “tree” cutter. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW, this is an honor, people think AZ. is just a desert. When I tell folks where we are moving to, there are trees in AZ?
LOL Ok I am done.
Aww come on Butch you know it us you miss.
Yeah, you got me George, busted!
