Concho Lake Fishing/Hunting Report – September 17, 2009

CONCHO LAKE — There are currently no fishing opportunities. The lake is extremely low and very weedy. The only fish present are a couple dozen carp stranded in a small pool in front of the dam. We are encouraging anglers to remove the carp, as they are bad for the lake. Do not transport the fish alive if removing them from the lake. There is only 2-3 inches of water in some areas of the lake. The lake is mostly dry. There is private property (closed to the public) on the northwest side of the lake.

**Arizona Game & Fish is requesting help from the public to remove the “bad” carp from Concho Lake. With the water levels at an all time low, this would be the perfect opportunity for those interested in removing the carp. It sounds like it should be an easy catch. So on the bright side of a bad situation, it looks like we can finally get rid of the “bad” carp from the lake with just a fishing net and a energetic hero!

:wink: Ok Butch get your waders on and start cleaning up the lake. But watch out for all those old hooks in the mud. Now would be a great time for a metal detector at the lake. I used to go along the shore there and found some cool stuff. I even found some brass 10 gauge shotgun shell casing. But mostly lures and such. Be green Butch :mrgreen: I bet Carol would post pictures of you gathering the Carp by hand heck it might be worth video taping it for Amercias funniest. 8-O
I would love to see video!!! Just send it over and I will edit it and post on YouTube. You could get your 15 minutes+ of fame! In fact Butch…. you and George could make a day out of it. :wink:
Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa wait a minute. Butch and Kim are the water dogs in Concho. I am just the director of devilment And as such can only direct the clean from a very far away place. :twisted: Besides Butch just think all that carp would make great garden fert.
Well, I would ask you to hold the camera and take pictures of him, but I think you would make the camera move to much from laughing at him. :twisted:

George, I think the first time he tried to be a hot shot and grab the fish with his bare hands…. he would fall over face first. I know I would.
Oh you guys are cracking me up. What garden, I have weeds George, hail too today.

Bare hands, no way Carol. Hook and line, cornmeal and flour for bait.
get some waders, we can get a drag net? :idea: We do the same for bait in Hawaii, for Opai, small shrimp.
Oh Carol, let me get some heavier line than I have, carp are good fighters. I like to have sport with fishing for trout, but carp. haul them in. I do have a small video camera.
I would love to be there right now. Someone please buy my house I am misssing all the fun! Gee luis! Maybe we could get a mud wrestling match on too for a good casuse benifit. Oh I know, to earn money into restocking the lake with water and eatable fishes! My husband would help too cause he has a metal detector and loves to get his hands dirty for a good cause. Butch where are you? Please do it for us. We want the good stuff in their for next year fishing. They have stuff know to kill weeds too so if the state could just pitch in for the cause it would be great. Oh shucks Butch I would help if I could but the plane fair would kill me right now. Hope you wanted to do this cause we all did. :mrgreen: George you could always turn into a mud statue to display yourself! hehe
Kim…. I’m sending over lots of happy wishes towards your direction so you can get you house sold!! I didn’t think of turning the carp catch into a carp/mud wrestling event. That would be fun..
wrestling in the mud? Not me thanks. :lol: The states machine cost a bunch, Rainbow Lake folks wanted to get it, they back off because of the cost. The weed extractor is fine, except it doesn’t get all of the new born weeds. The only t :evil: hing I can think of, drill some wells. Now if I hit Power Ball tonight, I’ll take care of it? I know dreaming, but hey someone has to win, and I can’t think of a nicer person than me. Yes I love ME!!!!!! :mrgreen:

Good question, but I don’t people are buying many of anything in Concho? I could check with my friend, he works and installs stuff like that. NBC news last night said that northern AZ has been in drought conditions for 15 years now. They focused on Flag.

What opinions do you have of living in Concho? It is an area we are looking at possibly purchasing some land.
3doglover: Place is really kick back, very quiet. Big time shopping 30 mins. away. Small grocery store in town, friendly folks. There’s a motel by the Water Company, maybe try it a few days to see for yourselves?
