Today is an exciting day for me. For the last seven months, I have been on the planning community for a community mock bus accident. And today is the day to test the communities emergency systems.
593info will be testing its emergency notification system during the mock bus accident. The exciting part is that you can follow along and watch what is happening from your home computer. And it’s easy!!
Go to http://twitter.com/593. This is a training exercise account for the 593info system. The joint information system will be posting updates of the mock bus accident on the site. They will be treating this as an actual accident.
If you have a Twitter account, the joint information system organizers would love for you to use the direct messaging system on Twitter to give them feedback.
I will be be Twittering about the event as well (in between taking photos). So if you would like to know what I am doing during the event, please follow me at: www.Twitter.com/CarolBEE
Alright Carol, you go. I for for am greatful for your taking a active roll in protecting us in a emegency. I knew you had been really busy the last few weeks. I hope all goes well with the program and training. Thank you for all you do for your community.
ALERT,ALERT, typo alert: I for for am greatful Should read I for one am greatful. And ” Emergency”
Ok this minor emergency has been resolved.
Carol great photo coverage of the event. Another new first for the White Mountains news of a public interest covered completely from start to completion. Carol you should be a investgative reporter. Another job you would do well and be great at.
And I am sure there will be a follow up to the weekends event, And it’s great success.
I will be posting an article about the event tomorrow. The White Mountain Independent was there and will be writing a story about the event. I am looking at posting a story about the personal side of attending the event. It effect it had on me and others that I observed.
I’m also looking for quotes for the internet watchers to get their feelings from watching the event..
If anyone has one, email it to me: concho@concholakeaz.com
On Tuesday, I’m looking to do a “Best” posting: Best Actor/Actress, Best Upset Parent, etc.
I am willing to bet your coverage with be much more detailed and informative to the public about the event.
I’ll echo George, no matter how small the community, they deserve to have information about how to handle any emergency. Good job Carol.
Thanks again for your great coverage of the exercise. We had a great deal of national interest during the exercise. I am still receiving comments from those who were watching remotely.
